What is Pilates?
Pilates is an exercise method developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th Century. Based around the principles of Centering, Concentration, Control, Precision, Breath, and Flow. Pilates a holistic workout for the mind and body. With regular practice, the body realigns itself, the core is strengthened, flexibility is improved and risk of injury is reduced. We recommend Pilates to help rehabilitate and prevent musculoskeletal issues, and find it compliments Chiropractic treatment very well.
The Reformer is a bed like machine consisting of moveable carriage, springs, pulleys and ropes. The strength and resistance can be adjusted to support and enhance your Pilates workout. Whether you are looking to rehabilitate, strengthen, tone or just try something new, the Reformer is definitely worth a go.
All 1-2-1 sessions will start with a 1 hour consultation and introduction to the Reformer (if you already have Reformer experience, Emma will use your consultation session to review a series of exercises with you and assess your abilities)
